58-year-old Steve Harvey made history last night botching the Miss Universe 2015 crowning. As reported, he announced Miss Philippines as 1st runner up and crowned Miss Columbia Ariadna Gutiérrez as Miss Universe.

He than had to interrupt Miss Colombia's celebration and announce that he made a big mistake and that Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is the Miss Universe 2015.
Steve Harvey showed his card to proof to the audience that is was his mistake, reading the card wrong. He apologized right there on air in the live broadcast of the Miss Universe pageant on Fox. Steve Harvey also took to Twitter after the show to apologized.
He tweeted: "I'd like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible. Secondly, I'd like to apologize to the viewers at that I disappointed as well. Again it was an honest mistake. I don't want to take away from this amazing night and pageant. As well as the wonderful contestants. They were all amazing."

Harvey's mistake got a lot of heat on social media and of course triggered a ton of memes. In the end his mistake gave a the Miss Universe pageant a much needed publicity push.
The new owners of the Miss Universe pageant at WME | IMG most likely broke out extra bottles of champaign after the show. IMG owns several global entertainment and fashion events, including more than 20 fashion weeks per year.
