  • Cloning Technology will lend Further Longevity to Millennial Old Cypress Tree

Cloning technology will lend further longevity to a millennium old cypress tree named Lady Liberty.

Following the death of Senator, which was its sister tree, Lady Liberty, a 2000 year old tree is being lent a new lease on life. The secret of this life extension is cloning technology.

The Senator was a tree that was located in Big Tree Park in Seminole County. It got burnt down three years ago. This led to forest conservationists paying greater attention to Lady Liberty.

Lady Liberty looks like it is a high rise building. 10 feet in width and 90 feet in height, it had cloning technology applied to it in order to extend its life span. That would make its age more than two millennial years, according to Orlando Sentinel.

There is a tall security enclosure surrounding Lady Liberty. But this tree is expected to wither away within the next half a decade or so. Thus the need for cloning to save this national heritage and important institution.

The cloning technology is definitely here and it could be used to save the lives of memorable plant life. While Lady Liberty hasn’t face any problems just yet, it is fast deteriorating.

The 3500 year old Senator unfortunately burned down in 2012. The cloning of landmark trees that have a living history is a worthy goal indeed. It shows that humanity is thinking of immortality and that cloning is the passport that will lead it out of this mortal coil.

The possibilities are virtually limitless. Cloning is our access to everything that lies in the collective unconscious. The impossible may just be possible. Cloning Lady Liberty will be a cinch. It will just take some tissues and a bit of re-injection to create a new offshoot of the plant.

Trees are a source of environmental regulation and they also serve to provide aesthetic pleasure. They prevent soil erosion and also lend the soil a lot of humus via their leaves which they shed.

And when you have such classic trees as Lady Liberty, something has to be done to preserve them for future generations to look up at in awe.

The giant cypress is a phenomenon that will inspire many to pen poems to it and sing the songs of environmental preservation. Called tree huggers and wimpy wusses by the ignorant crowd, it is precisely these environmentalists who will save the future of the planet for our progeny.
