Inside Out has higher ratings than any other movie this year but it is still not probable to not get a Best Picture nomination this year.

The movie is the top ranked animation movie this year and it is sure to be the top nomination in the Best Animated Feature category at the Oscars.
The question that is being raised once more is whether the movie will earn a Best Picture nomination. Pixar’s Up earned a nomination 5 years ago and most people can reckon that the movie deserved to win.
Up with its emotional and adventurous storyline moved many hearts and although it did not win the Best Picture award, it was still the best picture for most people.
The same scenario is being predicted for Inside Out. The movie has already been assured to be a nomination is the Best Screenplay category and the Best Animated Feature.
But the nomination announcements on January 4th will confirm the nominations. Whether the movie will be included in the most prestigious category of the night is a big question mark.
History marks that animation features are never taken seriously as quality bringers and concrete stories. They are always received as children’s movies when they are so much more.
Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarves was the first movie to receive an honorary Oscar in 1939 for achievement in animation, according to Bustle. Beauty and the Beast was nominated in the Best Picture category in 1992 and since then movies fell short of making it into the category.
In 2002, the Academy instated a Best Animated Feature category which was good for recognizing the animation features as a separate entity but that also meant that the movies fell short of being nominated in other more deserving categories.
Pixar has grabbed numerous awards with the animated features category but it is time that the company associated with excellence should receive a nomination once more in the Best Picture category and be given an equal chance to fight it out.
