The solution called TC9560XBG supports both Ethernet-AVB, the IEEE 802.1AS and the IEEE 802.1Qav.
Today the Toshiba Corporation, Semiconductor & Storage Products subsidiary made an announcement. According to Toshiba they will unveil a new automotive-grade Ethernet bridge solution at CES 2016.

The solution is designed for in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) and other automotive applications. The solution called TC9560XBG supports the standard Ethernet-AVB.
The Ethernet-AVB consists of both the IEEE 802.1AS and IEEE 802.1Qav. The Ethernet-AVB allows stable and reliable multimedia transmissions.
It makes the Ethernet-AVB suitable for IVI and telematics in vehicles. The TC9560XBG Ethernet bridge solution shipment will start immediately. While the volume production is slated for October 2016.
The addition of advanced sensors is making the automotive electronics more complicated. Similarly high-resolution displays, on-vehicle cameras and automated driver assistance systems are complex.
Toshiba aims to connect all of the devices with an Ethernet protocol. The industry-standard Ethernet protocol will contribute to simplified wiring. It will also save costs and reduce harness weight along with improving mileage.
The new automotive-grade Ethernet solution by Toshiba also supports Ethernet-AVB. The support capability is an important factor for multimedia applications.
The new Ethernet support will allow high performance in rigorous automotive environments. The Ethernet solution by Toshiba is also AEC-Q100 qualified.
The new TC9560XBG chipset will be showcased by Toshiba at CES 2016. The chipset will allow the host device to deliver information through an Ethernet network. The Ether network 10/100/1000 will be used. The data information delivered can be audio or video.
