Nancy Lockhart is the Color Marketing Manager at Axalta. According to Lockhart the start of 2016 was the perfect time to introduce Brilliant Blue. The new beginning by Axalta is charged by optimism and fresh thoughts. The new hue by Axalta represents positive energy and vibrance.
The color of the year Brilliant Blue is a mid-shade blue. According to Axalta the color has both depth and vividness with slight turquoise highlights. At Axalta the color is made with Axalta’s high chroma Vermeera technology.
The tech uses a multi-layer process to gain an intense blue color with a unique sparkle effect. Brilliant Blue was selected by experts at Axalta. In 2015 blue increased in popularity to a total of eight percent.
The reason was increased use on sport utility and compact utility vehicles. On a global scale Blue remained steady while rich colors declined. Similarly black and gray increased in popularity in 2015. Axalta will showcase its Brilliant Blue video during the EyesOn Design awards.
“We take pride in being able to support such an exceptional, international event that provides so much support to local charities,” said David Fischer, Axalta Vice President for Market Strategy and Growth. “NAIAS attendees will have many opportunities to experience Brilliant Blue.”
