The British astronaut, Tim Peake is to go for a space walk outside the ISS.

Major Tim Peake is one of the lucky few who got to travel in space to the ISS. He is a British national and is the pride of his nation.

Before his spacewalk begins soon, he blogged about how he felt and spoke on various other matters. He spoke about how he had been preparing for this final moment for years and now that it was here, it was such a thriller.

He said that he and his colleagues had previously endured many hours working on their EVA by floating about in the largest swimming pool on earth. Also VR headsets were used in the repertoire.

They were given advice on how to act in case an emergency took place too. In case one of them got separated from the lifeline that connected him to the space station, there were certain measures that could be taken.

The vacuum conditions of space were very hostile. According to Telegraph, Tim mentioned that although he felt excited by the prospects of a spacewalk, he had no time left to concentrate on emotional stuff since it only got in the way.

For the six hours and 30 minutes that will be spent during the spacewalk, Tim will be very busy fixing things. He will not have the luxury to thing all sorts of wishy-washy thoughts.

Each step taken during the spacewalk will be carefully executed  and there will be no room for any irrational moves. The astronauts would be consulting the manual for the spacewalk and it is almost 40 pages in length.

They will also receive instructions from mission control. That is because all the space activities were strictly in synch with the orders from ground control personnel.

The implements the astronauts used were packed away within their space suits. One time when one of the tools malfunctioned, a makeshift substitute was constructed from an ordinary toothbrush.

In space, you need all the help you can get and sometimes you have to improvise. The very moment the astronauts exit from the space lock, they will be on their own.

Yet it is here that they prove to be the best of buddies for each other. There is a lot of camaraderie and brotherhood among them. It has been half a decade since Tim Peake has looked forward to this event with anticipation.

He will at last get a chance to fulfill his heart’s desire and life’s mission as an able and competent astronaut.
