In 2015, Volvo sales increased by 24.3 percent in the US and the new sedan is expected to further increase figures.
Volvo has launched its new S90 premium sedan at the NAIAS 2016. The launch of the new sedan in Detroit highlights Volvo’s commitment to the U.S. clients, since Volvo specifically chose the North American International Auto Show for the launch.

The new signature premium sedan has been expressly launched for the US market. The launch of the S90 also indicates that Volvo has confidence that its sales in the coming years will grow.
In 2015, the sales of Volvo cars in the US increased by 24.3 per cent. Especially in October 2015 the sales had a very strong performance. The sales rose up to 87 percent in October alone and even up to 90 percent in November 2015.
In December 2015 the Volvo sales remained at a good 89.9 percent rise. The rise in the sales was largely due to the amazing sales performance of two Volvo cars. The first one was the Volvo XC60 crossover and the new XC90 SUV.
Lex Kerssemakers is the Senior Vice President of the Americas at Volvo Car Group. According to Kerssemakers, Volvo is back on track in the U.S with the new launch.
“There are strong indications that Volvo is back on track in the U.S.,” said Lex Kerssemakers, Senior Vice President of the Americas at Volvo Car Group. “We expect this strong sales momentum to continue in 2016, helped by the new S90.”
Volvo expects the strong sales momentum to continue in 2016. The new S90 sedan will also help in raising the sales in 2016. The launch of the S90 also highlights the ambition of the Swedish car maker.

Since Volvo has already decided to invest $11 billion in the US. Recently Volvo held a ground-breaking ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina. It will be the site for the first ever Volvo American production facility. The facility will employ more than 2,000 US workers.
