The image also shows the Empire State Building sits at the right side. Vin Diesel has claimed the film will come out in April 2017. Even at the Universal Comic Con Diesel hinted the 8th Installment will be out in April 2017.

Although Diesel may not be taken too seriously. Vin Diesel may be the undisputed lead but he is not the official spokesperson for the Universal Studio.

In the Instagram picture another interesting point is the reference to the upcoming movie as Fast 8. It marks yet another evolution of the Fast & Furious series' naming strategy.

The first film was simply named The Fast and the Furious. The second and third installments were named 2 Fast 2 Furious, then Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift respectively.

Then the fourth installment was called Fast & Furious. After which Fast Five, then Fast & Furious 6 and then Furious 7 arrived. The move to New York may be interesting. Considering Los Angeles, Tokyo, Rio, London, and Abu Dhabi were destroyed in the last films.
