Recently, David Bowie’s Labyrinth was also confirmed to return to the screen. It seems that the movie only needs a strong fan following with all the fans dearly wishing for a sequel or a new story with the same concept.
One of those movies which has been on the minds of the fans for the past two decades is Top Gun. The 1986 hit about a fighter pilot titled Maverick played by Tom Cruise and starring huge names such as Val Kilmer and Meg Ryan has always been a favorite for a sequel. The sequel buzz came to a halt when the director of the original movie, Tony Scott died in 2012.
It’s been four years now and Jerry Bruckheimer thinks it’s the right time to open the Top Gun chapter once more. The fans will be glad to know that Jerry met with Tom Cruise met this weekend in New Orleans to discuss the possibility of making Top Gun 2, according to ScreenRant.
Tom Cruise has always been open to reprising his role as Maverick once more. It was one of his most popular roles ever. Jerry Bruckheimer even posted a picture of himself with Tom Cruise.
Things are looking good because Jerry has an idea of getting Maverick to interact with drone operators. Tom’s demands of operating an actual CGI might come in as a hindrance in making the movie. However, if they work out the kinks, there will be a lot of happy fans who will go to theatres to watch the movie.
