The two-seat convertibles are being released 20 years after the first ever Boxster made its debut.
Porsche just announced it will soon release the new generation of models is 718 Boxster and 718 Boxster S. The first ever Boxster made its debut more than 20 years ago. Porsche has reconstructed its mid-engine roadsters in the new models.

According to Porsche the new models are more powerful yet more fuel efficient. The new models 718 Boxster and 718 Boxster S will contain the traditional four-cylinder flat engines. The original race-cars produced back in the 50s and 60s were legendary at the Targa Florio and Le Mans.
The newly developed four-cylinder flat engine also comes with turbocharging. The all-new 718 Boxster develops 220 kW (300 hp) of power. On the other hand the 718 Boxster S attains 257 kW (350 hp).
The power is derived from the two litres of engine displacement. Porsche also uses a turbocharger with variable turbine geometry. It makes Porsche the only manufacturer to offer VTG technology in production cars.
Especially the 718 Boxster Shas a petrol driven engine. Porsche has delivers fuel economy improvements of up to 13 per cent with the new 718 Boxster models.
The new cars were completely revised except for the luggage compartment lids, the windscreen and the convertible tops. Additionally the latest generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM) was added.
The newly designed dash panel frames the cockpit. A state-of-the-art touchscreen has also been included as standard. A new navigation module has also been added as an option.
