The model year of the vehicles is 2016. The recall has been issued due to a problem with the driver’s knee airbag module. The knee airbag module may not have been properly manufactured which can affect the performance.
So the airbag can increase the risk of injury in case of a crash. According to Toyota all owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by first class mail.
The notification mails will start arriving by March 2016. As part of the recall Lexus dealers will inspect the cars. If necessary the driver’s knee airbag will be changed free of charge.
Information about the recall is subject to change over time. Toyota urges the customers to check their vehicle’s status by visiting their official site. Or the customers can directly go over to http://www.toyota.com/recall. At the site Lexus owners are required to enter their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
