The F-150 will demonstrate Ford’s toughness and durability at the 2016 Best in the Desert off-road racing series.
The new 2017 F-150 Raptor race truck is one of the best creations by Ford. The F-150 is a demonstration of Ford technology toughness and durability. The F-150 will show all these qualities at an incoming off-road competition and continue Ford’s tradition.
The F-150 Raptor is based on the Built Ford Tough production. The Raptor consists of high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body. The frame of the Raptor is high-strength steel.
Similarly the Raptor sports the high-class all-new high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. Accompanying the engine is the 150-speed transmission and torque-on-demand transfer case.
Lastly a race-optimized long-travel suspension has also been added. Ford has long been a premier automotive sponsor of off-road racing in the United States.
Ford’s involvement in racing goes back 115 years to the efforts of founder Henry Ford. In 2016 Ford Raptor will be kicking up rocks in a desert race. The new factory stock class of the all-new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will take part in the race.
“The all-new Raptor has the DNA of a Baja race truck, with a purpose-built engine, chassis and suspension that enables it to travel fast over challenging desert landscapes or crawl over rocky terrain,” said Jamal Hameedi, chief engineer, Ford Performance.
Ford has collaborated with long time racing partner Greg Foutz to campaign the Raptor. Foutz will campaign the Raptor in the Best in the Desert off-road racing series for 2016. The race is a six-race series, including a Mint 400. The kick-off of the race will take place in Parker, Arizona.
Ford has revealed a roll cage, competition shocks and springs, and a fuel cell have been added for the race. The racing seats have also been installed with five-point harnesses.
Similarly the lightning and electronics have been adjusted for an off-road competition. The F-150 Raptor will also make its appearances at showrooms this fall.
“This is the most stock truck I’ve ever seen in my time building Ford race trucks,” said Greg Foutz, owner of Foutz Motorsports, Ford’s truck builder and primary race truck driver.
“Without custom technology or other modifications, this all-new Raptor is ready to prove the toughness and performance in the Best in the Desert series.”

“The technology and innovation built into this truck should help it surpass the competition,” said Foutz.
