The company CEO Niccolo de Masi announced that they will bring Taylor’s fans and the rest of the world the best quality of mobile game featuring Taylor that technology and graphics have to offer.
De Masi also emphasized that they will be developing a game that utilizes their mobile designing and Taylor’s creativity to bring fans the best experience ever.
Taylor Swift already has a great fan following including her 74 million fans on Facebook, 70.4 million on Twitter, 64.8 million on Instagram and 18 million on Vevo.
She has won seven Grammys, sold over 40 million albums and more than 130 million song downloads worldwide. 1989 broke records by selling almost 1.3 million copies in its first week.
So Taylor is pretty much the Golden Girl right now and Glu mobile understands that featuring Taylor will be a step forward for their company. They will have to be careful though.
Taylor is very precarious about her media outlets and she will be involving herself in the money making process from the game. Glu has already benefitted following their announcement of collaborating with Taylor. The company’s stock jumped more than 26% in after-hours trading Wednesday.
Taylor has been very careful keeping her work on the internet. She has been disappointed in the past with music outlets that have been exploiting her work so her making a deal with Glu is definitely a big deal to show that she trusts them.
