Now, it is finally our chance to rejoice.
According to reports, Little, Brown Book Group UK, the publisher of the once-in-a-lifetime franchise announced this morning that they will publish the script of "Harry Potter and the Curse Child" on July 31, 2016. This will be the eight story in the series.
You can preorder the Kindle addition on Amazon now, but for many, they will have to wait for Scholastic, the American publisher of the series, to put out the physical copy of the book.
The play is set to premier July 30, 2016.
According to Pottermore, author J.K. Rowling's website and game dedicated to the Harry Potter universe, the "print and digital editions will publish simultaneously after the play's world premiere this summer, and will comprise of the version of the play script at the time of the play's preview performances."
There will also be a "definitive edition" released later that will have any changes preserved after the play "freezes."
Rowling has yet to comment on the announcement, though she did retweet the Little Brown announcement.
Although Rowling has made no official announcement of her own, she retweeted the Little Brown announcement and had responded jokingly to one follower's question about whether or not the play is a prequel (hint: it is not and she has said so hundreds of times).
