They were seeing off their children and Harry said words of encouragement to his younger son Albus Severus Potter. As the train went away, we vowed that we will always love Harry Potter even if we won’t be able to see any of the characters again.
That’s not for long, last year the author of the wizarding series, J.K. Rowling announced that she had collaborated with English television writer Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany to bring the characters to life together once more.
This time however, it will be onstage. The play is set to open this summer at the Palace Theatre on London’s West End. The play is the continuation of the story of the nineteen years later version of Harry struggling with adult life and the curse that young Albus bears of being a Potter.
The play will also feature Ron and Hermione in the play. Jamie Parker, Noma Dumezweni and Paul Thornley will lead the cast as Harry, Hermione and Ron respectively.
Many fans requested Rowling to consider publishing the play in book format. The reason being that most fans won’t be able to make it to London for the performance and even if they did, London would be too small to accommodate them all.
So Rowling announced on Pottermore that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be released in a book format. Rowling has announced new print and digital publishing including a Special Rehearsal Edition of the script book of new stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I & II.
The eBook will be published simultaneously with the print editions by Pottermore after the play’s world premiere in July. It will comprise of the version of the play script at the time of the play’s preview performances.
The preview performance will allow the production to make changes that will enhance the performance for the official opening of the play.
