Ryan Reynolds who starred in this Fox film played the role of an angry super-hero. It was thought earlier that “Deadpool” wouldn't be able to break the record of last year’s erotic drama “Fifty Shades of Grey”, however the numbers are showing an entirely different story.
According to BoxOfficeMojo, “Deadpool” not only broke its record but also earned more than “The Matrix Reloaded” which earned $91.8 million in 2003.
Tim Miller is the director of this film which cost no more than $58 million. It was predicted that this movie would be able to earn at least $80 million in almost three days. This shows that the trends for the movies is changing and the audiences tend to like new things too.
ComScore’s media analyst Dergrabedian said that nobody expected it to earn so much. It looks like people are looking forward to projects that are unique and offer something new.
Reynolds had starred in “Green Lantern” in 2011, which was also a super-hero movie. It didn’t do any good at the box office which was another reason that nobody believed “Deadpool” would be a success.
“Kung Fu Panda 3” is placed at the second position after earning $89 million, while “How to Be Single” is at the number third rank by earning a total of $18.8 million only.
