Lady Gaga made it already clear before the Grammy night that she takes her tribute to David Bowie, who died on January 11, 2016, seriously. She got David Bowie's face tattooed on her back. Lady Gaga did not disappoint with a stunning performance that got visually enhanced by live computer graphics powered by Intel.

Lady Gaga opened the David Bowie tribute with Major Tom. She underlined her performance with fire red hair, channeling perfectly the great David Bowie. Watch the stunning Lady Gaga performance below. There is a lot going on on stage including a moving robotic keyboard.

The video above starts with an intro where Lady Gaga talks about how Intel helped make the David Bowie tribute at the Grammys 2016 special. This is perfect marketing for the chip company.

“I like to do things that integrate technology and art with powerful experiences,” said Lady Gaga. “I think that this collaboration with Intel has been very different than anything I have done before. They have really given me so much amazing technology to play with.”

Intel technology was used for the digital skin at the beginning of the performance that animated Lady Gaga's face. Her Intel Curie module-based ring generated the real-time effects as she rotated and animated her wrists and arms, while Intel Xeon processor-based media servers generated the live content.

The rose gold piano on stage took on a life of its own as three Intel Atom processor-powered robot arms danced as one to add unexpected motion effects to a traditionally staid and steady instrument. Lastly a combination of her Intel Curie technology-based ring and holographic display materials were used to allow Lady Gaga to generate a three-dimensional hologram of David Bowie on the Grammy stage.

Lady Gaga has been quite present in recent months. She has conquered TV in American Horror Story and she sang the National Anthem at Super Bowl 50.

Kendrick Lamar went away as the big winner at the Grammys 2016 with five awards. He also delivered a powerful performance. The Grammys 2016 was a packed show with lots of performances and tributes.
