Little to no heed is paid to climate change in classrooms across America. This is a worrisome trend.

Those students in secondary education in the United States gain nothing in the way of knowledge concerning climate change. In fact, most of them are fed misinformation and lies about global warming and the emission of greenhouse gases.

A survey was held and teachers were queried about the trend. A mere 30% of the teachers replied in the affirmative. They taught their pupils all they could about the causes of climate change. 

Around 12% excluded the fact that it was man-made changes that were causing the current crisis. A whopping 31% actually teach that the whole thing has its controversial side, according to LiveScience.

This “tale told by an idiot” has it that the causes may not be man-made at all. The scientists who expatiate on the issue are more or less united in their stand against climate change though.

Over 97.4% of climate scientists agree that human fossil fuel consumption is the culprit. As for the teachers of America, they were ignorant about this consensus among the scientists.

The number of hours that teachers in the United States regularly discuss climate change with their students was merely one or two.  

Politics has nothing to do with it. About 4.4% teachers form a fringe group that is against teaching anything about climate change due to pressure from certain quarters.

Over 68% of the teachers were reasonable enough to believe in the dictum that climate change was caused by the negligent ways of mankind. The basic issue was that the majority of teachers were unaware of the scientific consensus and the latest research.

Half the teachers didn’t have any formal training in the art of lecturing on climate change. Two thirds of them admitted that they would welcome any changes in the curriculum that would allow for climate change science to be taught on a regular basis.  

It is clear from this that the majority of teachers would be more than willing to allow climate science to be taught in their classrooms. Even the radical bunch of lecturers, who were not sure about whether it was a man-made problem, was ready to change their stance.

Climate change has been something of a hot potato in classrooms across America in recent times. Conservative boards of education have actually tried to cast doubts on climate change as a valid problem. They deny that it even exists.
