Nokia for some time has focused on a handful of projects that are underway and a few of them are likely to be showcased at this tech event.

Nokia already made announcement that it will participate at MWC 2016, the biggest mobility event on the globe scheduled to be held in Barcelona from February 22 to February 25 this year. Although company has no plans to come up with any Android smartphones, their participation is very significant in respect of being informed on the company’s progress with new 5G technology.

With Mobile World Congress set to make news of new launches and breakthroughs there is no wonder that a majority of mobility companies have already begun to blow horns to create expectation on their next range of announcements at the event. Nokia though announced late, it joined the league of other participants, though with a significant difference.

Unlike most other participants in MWC, Nokia is not talking of any new launch of Android devices but rather being content with publicizing the impressive investments made by the company in recent years in 5G Technology and the range of advances that it managed to achieve in the networking field.

The announcement though lack so called glam and interesting device glitz we associate with MWC is unquestionably an eye opener. All the future applications, devices, services and device ecosystems like IoT and autonomous cars are likely to be run on 5G network. Naturally, any new advancement in that direction will help the company gain leadership in that field.

Nokia for some time has focused on a handful of projects that are underway and a few of them are likely to be showcased at this tech event. Ever since the company sold its smartphone empire to Microsoft, it focused on new technologies and innovations in network infrastructure. Naturally, we can expect some breakthrough news concerning these new projects undertaken by the company.

The 5G multi-service network architecture from Nokia can address both mobile and fixed networks. This allows the operators to provide network services way beyond voice and data apps provided at present. This would obviously open a whole array of new business opportunities across the industries. Besides delivering a whole range of network apps and capabilities 5G will also ensure 100% network availability.

Some of the use cases after the Nokia 5G come to life are going to be revealed and showcased at MWC 2016. Here below we take a brief look at these futuristic use cases of 5G era, as likely to be revealed by Nokia.

5G Autonomous cars : 5G network capability will allow autonomous driving through ultra-low latency connectivity for cars. Autonomous cars and vehicles which need constant and unrestrained flow of communication will find such network as mission-critical element.

5G industrial network connected robots : A super reliable, low latency 5G network can allow uninterrupted synchronized connection among robots operated by remote intelligence for industrial uses. With such robust low latency 5G network helping robotic movement and consorted work in industrial environment, achieving productivity targets and securing cost benefits can be more easier.

5G stadium experience : Thanks to fastest 5G network live multi-casting transmission of game-play from stadium can be made available on large number of smartphones. This will allow user enjoy a simulated and augmented experience of the live telecast as live video feeds enabled by different camera positions offer a viewing experience similar or better than watching from the stadium gallery.

5G interactive virtual reality : Thanks to zero latency network of 5G two users of mobile virtual reality users will collaborate as though they are sitting side by side. This will revolutionize remote collaboration and communication.

5G massive network capacity : Bell Labs has also come up with new aggregation technologies ensuring a record speed of 30 Gbps and further working to make it more consistent and reliable for an unparalleled end user experience.

5G massive network connectivity : According to Nokia, a really massive number of device connections with reliable connectivity can be ensured with new 5G technology innovation from Bell Labs.

Nokia also said that in the mega event it will come up with the breakthrough concept of 'extreme automation' driven by 5G network. In all respects, Nokia may have enough surprises reserved for this year’s mobile congress.
