Rolls-Royce Ending Production of Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe
  • Rolls-Royce announces Phantom Coupe & Drophead Coupe to be discontinued!

The Rolls-Royce CEO also announced the Phantom line will soon end with 50 special Phantom Zenith models.

Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes the CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars made some very important announcements. According to Mueller-Oetvoes, the current Phantom line-up will start its end from 2016.

The CEO also announced Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe models will not be renewed anymore. However the two magnificent Phantom models will end their lives with a special collection.

The special collection will include only 50 highly desirable cars called Phantom Zenith. Previously it was announced Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has begun testing its all-new aluminium architecture. Every Rolls-Royce car in the future will be made with the new architecture from 2018. 

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, said, “I am proud and excited to announce that a new Phantom is on the way – a contemporary and beautiful Phantom enhanced with cutting-edge technologies and design innovations. Any new Phantom is an historic and important moment in automotive history and we are working hard on perfecting the Phantom VIII.”

The Phantom line-up is currently in its seventh generation. The very last Phantom VII limousine will be released later in 2016. The Phantom started production in Goodwood over 13 years ago.

The Phantom line-up became the foundation upon which the renaissance of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars stood. The very last Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe will be completed in November 2016.  

The Phantom Zenith will be a collector’s line to feature 50 unique Coupes and Dropheads. The exclusive line-up will celebrate the end of production of the truly exceptional cars. 

Rolls-Royce stated the Phantom Zenith will be the pinnacle. The line-up will be the best of its kind as the name promises. The Zenith line-up will sum up the best features of Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe. A few surprise features may also be added in the 50 fine automobiles. 

“As the name promises, Zenith will be the pinnacle; the best of its kind; the highest standard achievable by which everything else is judged,” comments Director of Design, Giles Taylor.

“Zenith will be the sum of all the best features of Phantom Coupé and Drophead Coupé, with a few surprises added. We expect huge demand for these 50 fine motor cars as we shall not look upon their like again.”
