iQuanti, a marketing company that specializes in search analytics, pulled data on the nominees in each of the top Academy Award categories. iQuanti looked at search volumes for each of the nominees in each category between January 2015 and December 2015, the Oscar Qualification period. The nominee with the highest Average Monthly Search Volume (Avg MSV) is America’s top choice.
According to search volume, the Academy Award for Best Picture goes to Mad Max: Fury Road and not to The Revenant, that we see as the favorite for the Oscar.
The search based prediction sees Leonardo DiCaprio as the winner for the Oscar for Best Actor in a leading role. We agree with that. Leonardo DiCaprio will finally get his first Oscar.
The search volume ranking sees Jennifer Lawrence as the winner for Best Actress in a Leading Role. That is not what we believe. We predict that Brie Larson will win that Oscar.
