  • Lamborghini confirms Centenario coming to Geneva Motor Show!

Only 40 super cars will celebrate the 100th anniversary of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini’s birth.

Lamborghini Centenario the incredibly special supercar will arrive at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. It will be the official debut of the special new car after weeks of reports and speculation. The car will celebrate the 100th anniversary of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini’s birth in style.

The news comes after leaked design patent images surfaced earlier this month on the internet. The patent images showed a special-edition model not identified.

At the time the internet was ablaze with the speculation the patent images were the upcoming Centenario. The images showed a long body with a black canopy. What were really suspicious about the images were the flamboyantly futuristic Lamborghini lines.

Lamborghini has revealed no more details about the supercar so far. But the power is expected to come from a 556kW version of 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine.

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has confirmed the new supercar isn’t be based on the Huracán, CarAdvice reported. It means the car is likely a re-skinned Aventador with a V-12 and all-wheel drive.

The Centenario should be able to 759 horsepower or 770 metric hp. The Centenario is speculated to hit 0-62 mph time of just 2.7 seconds and a top speed in excess of 217 mph.

Only 20 Centenario LP 770-4 coupes and 20 convertibles will be developed. Price of a single Centenario is set at a huge $2.2 million Euros or $2.4 million. Lamborghini Centenario will be released during a live coverage next week at the Swiss Motor Show.
