As is Apple tradition there were some very interesting questions and answers that were delivered. The most interesting point was when Apple’s rumored electric vehicle project was mentioned.
This time however Cook did not completely deflect the topic and gave us some hope. Cook did downplay the topic when asked about the Apple Car by a shareholder.
It has been an open secret for quite some time that Apple has been working on developing an electric car. Even Tesla CEO Elon Musk has commented on the Apple Electric Car.
The openly secret project called ‘Project Titan’ has recruited as many as 600 employees; most of them have been poached from Tesla. Rumor has it the Apple car design concept is currently being worked on. Apple will start production of the EV by 2020.
Cook did not directly address the topic of the Apple Electric car but he did hint it would be nothing short of exciting. Cook stated if everyone remembered being a kid when Christmas Eve came and it was so exciting.
According to Business Insider, he said, "Do you remember when you were a kid, and Christmas Eve, it was so exciting, you weren't sure what was going to be downstairs? Well, it's going to be Christmas Eve for a while."
Cook further stated the feeling of not knowing what was going to be downstairs was so novel. Cook then cryptically exclaimed it will be like Christmas Eve for a while.
The internet has since this morning been ablaze with what Cook meant by his ‘Christmas Eve’ comment. Before making the statement Cook did admit he should have called on someone else as a joke.
Was Cook only referring to building the excitement level for the Apple Car or was there an ulterior message? Is the Apple Car is coming eventually if the EV is ‘Christmas Day’?
Earlier this week Cook was asked who Apple is hiring to work on the car project. Cook generically stated Apple doesn’t need to spend large amounts of money to “explore” an area.
The answer suggests the Apple EV is in development stages and not near completion. Other than the Apple Car issue, the shareholders meeting included the usual business.
Members of the Apple board were also re-elected. The members are Art Levinson, James Bell, Tim Cook, Al Gore, Bob Iger, Andrea Jung, Ronald Sugar, and Susan Wagner.
Similarly the 2015 fiscal product and financial achievements were highlighted. Cook also disclosed Apple spent $8.5 billion in research & development and made 19 company acquisitions in 2015. Other info revealed was how Apple’s global employee count has reached 116,000.
Another important point of business was the near completion of the new Apple campus. According to Cook, the campus will be ready for employees around January 2017.

Cook also stated Steve Jobs had dedicated himself to the project during his final years. It’s safe to assume the next annual shareholders meeting could take place at the new Apple campus. Needless to say Apple has all its plan in line and is making big on them.
