Sergio Marchionne believes they are well suited to help construct the Apple Car.

The FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) CEO, Sergio Marchionne wants to help Apple. According to Marchionne they can help build their first EV the Apple Car. Marchionne stated they are well suited to help build the Apple Car.

The reason why Marchionne is well suited is very peculiar. Marchionne stated since he owns all of the Apple products he can help build the Apple Car.

Before commenting on the logic let’s take a look at Marchionne. As Bloomberg revealed, the Fiat CEO is a self-proclaimed ‘Apple freak’. So it seems reasonable Marchionne is keen to partner with Apple.

Marchione made the statements about helping Apple at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. While talking in Switzerland this week, Marchionne stated he assumes Fiat has the credibility for the job.

It is to be noted FCA does have the ability to be a manufacturing partner with Apple. Marchionne further stated to Bloomberg that auto manufacturing is a complex process. So Apple would benefit by pairing with an established carmaker such as Fiat.

This isn’t the first time the Fiat CEO has actively pursued a company to partner with since early 2015. Previously Marchionne has wanted to partner with General Motors. However GM CEO Mary Barra declined the offer.

Back to Apple, some of Marchionne’s comments may have been too scathing. Marchioone also stated if Apple has any urges to make a car they should lie down until the feeling passes.

Marchionne further compared Apple’s aim to an illness and said such illnesses come and go. Marchionne further advised Apple they will recover from  their illness and it will not affect them lethally.
