In reality, the quarterback has until March 9th to make a decision about his future.

Peyton Manning has been taking his time off for granted, according to many Broncos fans who are now calling for the quarterback to make a decision about whether or not the 39-year-old will play another season or whether he will finally retire. There are also reports that fans aren't the only ones itching for his decision, the team is as well.

But that isn't so according to John Elway, the Broncos general manager. He says that the Broncos will give Manning all the time he needs to determine whether or not he's coming back. However, the start of the new league year is March 9, and that's also the day that Manning's $19 million base salary becomes fully guaranteed. That's a lot of money to play a quarterback who isn't playing his best and was out more games last year than he played.

It is really difficult to think that Manning will come back, because there is really nothing he hasn't done. He's definitely going into the Hall of Fame, he's one of the best (if not the best) quarterbacks in history, and he's won two Super Bowls. He's coming off of the worst season of his career and probably doesn't want to sink any lower to tarnish his reputation.

According to CBS News, the Broncos want to re-sign Brock Osweiler, the 25-year-old second round pick who played 7 starts last year while Peyton rested and was nursed back to health.

"I think he has a very bright future," Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said last month of Osweiler. "Obviously we think the world of him, and we want him to be a part of our football team -- we've got a lot of guys that are free [agents] like that. But he's been really special with the job he's done this year, and I think he's grown a great deal."

According to the CBS Sports' Joel Corry, the Broncos have already offered him a good deal: "The two-year, $24.5 million contract extension (worth a maximum of $38 million through incentives) Nick Foles received from the Rams in the preseason containing $13.792 million in guarantees may be Osweiler's salary floor."

Let's just hope that Peyton goes out while it is good to go.
