The EPA gave the minivan a fuel economy rating of 28 mpg a number unearned by any other in the market.

The all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan earns a distinctive fuel economy status. The minivan was given the highway-cycle fuel-economy rating of 28 miles per gallon (mpg).

The rating by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a significant benchmark. The rating had previously never been given to any minivan on the market.

The new 2017 Pacifica is also 12 percent better than the one it is replacing in the line-up. Examining the broader environmental impact of the Pacifica, it can be seen it is nine percent greener.

“The Pacifica isn’t just engineered for today,” says Mark Chernoby, Chief Operating Officer Product Development and Head of Product Portfolio Management for FCA’s Group Executive Council. “This vehicle is designed and crafted to enhance the lives of our customers for years to come.”

According to Chrysler officials the Pacifica was not engineered today. The Pacifica was designed and crafted to enhance the lives of their customers for years to come. Chrysler also stated Total environmental impact is an important metric. Their new fuel-efficient technologies consider the impact.

The credit for the fuel economy rating of Pacifica goes to its engine. The engine of the 2017 Pacifica is a direct descendant of the celebrated Pentastar V-6.

The 2017 Pacifica has the 3.6-liter V-6 gas-powered engine. The 2017 Pacifica also features two-step variable-valve lift or VVL. Similarly a cooled exhaust-gas recirculation (EGR) is also added.

The Pacifica also has innovative engine-weight reduction as it is nearly 250 pounds lighter than its predecessor. All of the features lead to better efficiency and performance of the engine.

The 2017 Pacifica features 22 percent more high-strength steel than its predecessor. Out of the 22 % about 48 % is advanced high-strength steel for maximum stiffness and strength. It is the ultimate minivan made with light-weight materials.
