Porsche has announced that its new 2017 Macan will be available in the US soon. The 2017 Porsche Macan features a 2.0-liter turbo-four as its base engine. The base engine is slotted beneath the existing Macan S.
The engine is capable of producing 252 horse power and 273 lb-ft of torque. The ratings may not be as impressive as the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 in the Macan S capable of 340 hp. But the 2017 Macan will be available in the US so that is a bonus.
The 2017 Porsche Macan also comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Similarly, all-wheel drive is also added to the new Macan. The 2017 Macan will also be offered with the optional Sport Chrono package.
The package features launch control for the four-cylinder Macan. Porsche claims the 2017 Macan can rocket to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds and continues to a top speed of 142 mph.
The new Porsche Macan has a smaller engine and lighter weight. As a result, the new model will also be much more fuel efficient than any other Porsche Macan. The new 2017 Macan is expected to return 20/25 mpg compared the 17/23 mpg ratings of the Macan S.
The 2017 Macan also offers blacked-out window trim and black brake calipers. The bi-xenon headlights, power front seats and lane-departure warning are standard.
The Macan with the four-cylinder will start at a price of $48,550. The 2017 Porsche Macan will make its debut at the New York auto show later this month.
