The music and acting comedy group, which is led by Andy Samberg, is back with what is probably their biggest project to date, a movie entitled Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. The trailer appeared online today and there are some absolutely massive cameos from musicians like DJ Khaled, Usher, Carrie Underwood, and others.
The R-Rated trailer takes you into the life of the protagonist of the movie, the pop star Connor4Real, who may just be a Justin Bieber dupe, who is going to be the person to save the recording industry, at least according to Simon Cowell. Carrie Underwood also admits that he is quite the looker.
Connor4Real is the biggest pop star in the world, who was flanked by legions of screaming fans. His team of 32 people includes a publicist played by Sarah Silverman, who just wants him to be as ubiquitous as oxygen itself. The crew also has a lot of the Lonely Island usual suspects in Akiva Schaffer as his lyricist and Jorma Taccone as the DJ.
Snoop Dogg even has a cameo as a part of the crew as his Doggfather.
The collaboration with DJ Khaled, the popular internet personality, was hinted at on the "All I Do Is Win" artist's Snapchat just a few months ago.
Samberg talked about the film recently on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he unveiled the poster, the final title for the film, and the release date.
The Judd Apatow-produced film will be released on June 3, according to Rolling Stone.
