Although the name of the Sportback was not taken in the statement, it is believed that it will arrive in the US by 2017. Scott Keogh, the Audi of America President, stated to AutomotiveNews that they add a new A5 body style.
The new A5 will arrive in the US by the second quarter of next year. The arrival of the Audi A5 in the US is another part of the nameplate redesign strategy by Audi. The Sportback variant of the A5 is the only variant not available in US, so it makes sense it will arrive soon.
Keogh further stated he feels confident there will be another variant of the A5 that will be a real home run. Keogh further cemented the belief it will be a Sportback saying there is one A5 variant they don’t have in the US.
The comments were made by Keogh to the Automotive News A4 media event. Keogh did not reveal any more details of the upgraded version of the new Audi.
