The trailer for the latest survival movie starring Blake Lively has intrigued audiences following its trailer release.
Blake Lively has come a long way from the streets of Manhattan where she once played the stylish Serena Van Der Woodsen. Blake has a great array of movies to her credit but never have we seen her like this before.
We are guessing that because her hubby Ryan Reynolds took on the action movie Deadpool, Blake might have gotten inspired to sign on the Jaume Collet-Serra directed new movie, The Shallows.
The trailer for The Shallows was recently released on the internet and looking at it and considering Collet-Serra’s prior work including, Run All Night, Non-Stop, and Unknown; we are in for a survival thriller which includes sharks and being stranded on rocks.
The movie has been released by Sony Pictures and Columbia, and as it starts, we see a rock in distance while the camera angle goes up and down the water surface and we can assume that we are seeing the rock from Blake’s character’s point of view who is drowning as waves are coming and crashing at the rock’s surface.
Throughout the trailer, we hear her constant yells for help. Then we see her stranded on the rock from a an upside view as she is sprawled on the rock, which is not very big, at an awkward angle while waves continue to crash on the rock.
We then get a close up shot of Blake’s panic riddled face as she looks around and keeps yelling for help and we see that she is in the middle of islands which are completely isolated.
The camera then closes in on her leg which we find out is injured and she is in considerable pain. The screen then announces This Summer, followed by Blake getting up on her feet.
We see a below the ocean shot of the rock on which she is standing and then the screen says that “What was once in the deep” and then we see the overall expanse of the ocean around her from a circular view, and the screen then cuts to words, “Is now in the shallows”. And we see the view over her shoulder of the nearest island which is far away.
And then we and Blake get to see what was seeing her and the rock from below the water. A shark! A huge shark in the shallow water supposedly just waiting her out before the title of the film appears and we are left speculating.
So now we know that the movie is a shark survival thriller and the character’s name is Nancy. Other than that, there is not much revealing in the trailer which is how a trailer should be.
It has left most fans anticipating about how Nancy would survive a shark with a bleeding, injured leg while being stranded on a small rock. The film will release in June and fans will once again want to watch a shark related thriller after the dismal adaptations like Sharknado.
