German magazine Auto Zeitung made the claims about the third generation BMW X6.
The rumored third generation BMW X6 is many years away from actual existence. However the rumor mill for the X6 has already started spinning.

The German magazine Auto Zeitung is the first to have made claims about a few details of the BMW X6. According to the magazine the new BMW X6 will arrive in 2021.
The magazine (via BMWBlog) also claimed the new BMW X6 will introduce new significant design and technological changes.
Other details suggested by the magazine are related to the weight of the next BMW X6. It is claimed the Sports Activity Coupe will weigh less than the current F16 X6.
The current F16X6 tips the scale at around 2100 kilograms. The weight would be reduced in the new X6 by using a body made of a mix of steel, aluminum and carbon fiber. Some features such as like laser lights will also be offered as premium for certain X6 models.

Other suggestions such as a hybrid variant of the X6 are also being considered. It may be possible that BMW will offer a hybrid. The X6 hybrid would be developed using an updated version of the platform currently found in the X5 xDrive40e. Rumors further state that the new X6 will have autonomous functions at its core with more advanced self-driving functions.
