This week a number of amazing cars caught our attention in the Big Apple.

The New York Auto show provided us a showcase of some very high-performance machines. Let’s round up all the best cars shown in the Big Apple. Some featured silky-smooth drop-tops, while some showed off smart safety and powertrain technologies.

2017 Mazda MX-5 RF

The 2017 Mazda MX-5 RF was a memorable car at the show. Mazda garnered the most hype at the show. The hype was created after Mazda unveiled its Miata hardtop convertible on Tuesday night.

The MX-5 RF is undoubtedly a beautiful machine and comes with a compact lid that retracts in just 12 seconds. The vehicle design offers a roadster configuration, which gives a bit more privacy and wind protection along with a stylish look.

 2017 Nissan GT-R

Next up one of the best offerings at the show was the 2017 Nissan GT-R. The GT-R also known as Godzilla is a hard core street-racing machine. The GT-R can be legally attributed to Nissan’s “intelligent mobility” line.

The refreshed GT-R comes with a more comfortable interior due to the presence of improved Nappa leather seats. The less techy infotainment system also seems more civilized.

Basically the GT-R is a grand-tourer. The Godzilla is capable of producing 565 horsepower with four lb-ft torque boost to 467. The Godzilla’s design has been refreshed with a new hood and nose treatment, along with a higher waistline.

2017 Toyota Prius Prime

Another eye-catching car was the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime. The hybrid car is an improved plug-in variant of the Prius. The new Prius prime comes with a larger 8.2-kWh battery and a more fine-tuned hybrid system.

The hybrid has a 22 miles all electric range. The hybrid also features a more dramatic taillight scheme, along with an aquatic body sculpting.

2017 Hyundai Ioniq

Similarly the 2017 Hyundai Ioniq is a hybrid with legit tech in the exterior. Hyundai offers three different versions of the Ioniq. The first version is a full electric with a fairly standard 110 mile range.

Secondly the plug-in hybrid can go 25 miles on electricity alone. The last version is the conventional hybrid which delivers 58 miles per gallon. All three versions feature the very low drag coefficient of 0.24.

2017 Mercedes-AMG E43

Mercedes was not one to be left behind and showcased the 2017 Mercedes-AMG E43. The vehicle is a freshly redesigned E-Class Mercedes which can reach up to 130 mph on the freeway.

The car features a twin-turbo 3-liter V6 engine that produces 396 horsepower. It also comes with driver-tunable air suspension and steering feedback.  The E43 might not be outrageous but it will pack a punch at a more reasonable price.

2017 Acura MDX

Next up is the 2017 Acura MDX, the most popular and crucial vehicle by the brand. The mid-sized SUV is the next to receive Acura’s vaunted three-motor hybrid powertrain.

The vehicle features electric motors in the back and a 3-liter V6 in the front. The net horsepower is up from 300 to 325 compared to the non-hybrid version.

Acura NSX GT3

Another surprise reveal by Acura was the NSX GT3. The race car comes with tons of race-tuned bodywork for improved aerodynamics and engine/brake-cooling. The NSX GT3 comes with weight-trimming measures which has ditched all the non-essentials.
