Sony is not one of those corporations to be left behind in the magical technology stakes. It has manufactured the very first ghost catching gadget of the global village.
All the way from the cotton gin to the first integrated circuit to the LCD screen, technological innovation has kept pace with the predictions of popular media’s sci-fi world.

The latest books, television shows and films all point towards emerging realities on the horizon. For every person saying that something cannot be done, there is another bolder person doing that thing before the first one has had a chance to correct himself.
War of the Worlds led to the first rocket which was invented by Goddard. Star Trek with its “Beam me up, Scotty!” led to the first cell phone. In out current postmodern era, we have such films as Ghostbusters which has inspired the first ghost catching device.
This gadget could transform the ways of the world we inhabit. A generation ago, in the mid 80s, this trend of a device that could be used to deal with the paranormal came into being in the Zeitgeist’s imaginary horizon. Today it has been translated into reality and we have the first Proton Pack.
This initial prototype of an ectoplasmic containment unit weighs about 15 pounds. It integrates the selfsame long life battery STAMINA mode which is to be found in Sony’s Xperia smartphones.
Also a Cyber-Shot RX compact camera lies hidden within its components. It can playback the various scenes that took place previously and also allow real time projection. Yet the question is how this gizmo actually performs in day to day circumstances.
The manufacturing company gives the specs as follows: a miniature superconducting synchrotron accelerates protons from a hydrogen plasma cell. The temperature is kept constant via a liquid helium reservoir.
An active cryo-cooling agent makes it a certainty that operational time remains longer than usual. The proton bean is led to an ergonomic wand. This provides maximum pinpointing and focus.
It ends the feedback loops connected to external noise. This Proton Pack will be released for public scrutiny in mid-July of this year. It is a Sony creation and a dream of engineers worldwide.

Note: This spiel about a Proton Pack was an April Fool’s Joke by the Sony Corporation and the Ghostbusters Franchise. It was meant in good humor and may even become true one fine day in the future when humanity has progressed to the point where technology is indistinguishable from magic. For now, no such thing exists. Sorry for the disappointment and let down of sorts.
