Toyota has expanded its services and announced Toyota Connected services that will help to implement hybrid solution globally.
Toyota announced Toyota Connected, Inc. project today. This decision has been taken to expand the company’s services beyond the automobiles and testing the company’s capabilities in the fields of technology such as data management and data services development. Toyota’s global operations will be assisted by Toyota Connected, Inc., a data science hub, in near future.

Toyota and Microsoft’s Azure cloud technology have come together to develop contextual, automatic and predictive driving experience that is a safe and convenient future mobility according to the Toyota.
Toyota Connected, Inc. will be based in Plano, Texas and will launch data analytics to support product development for distributors, dealers, customers, and partners. These services will be seamless and contextual and will use cutting-edge data technology. In order to provide these services, Toyota will integrate initiatives in data analytics, data-driven and data center management services.
Zack Hicks, Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Connected and Chief Information Officer said “Toyota Connected will help free our customers from the tyranny of technology. It will make lives easier and help us to return to our humanity.”
“From telematics services that learn from your habits and preferences to use-based insurance pricing models that respond to actual driving patterns, to connected vehicle networks that can share road condition and traffic information, our goal is to deliver services that make lives easier,” he added.
Microsoft’s Azure cloud technology will be used by Toyota Connected to put a hybrid solution into practice globally. Toyota and Microsoft have been working together for a long time. Both companies are willing to deliver new connected car solutions and elevated customer experiences with existing partnership.
Toyota Connected will solely focus on expanding the company’s work in connected and data science technologies. Chief Information Officer of Toyota North America, Zack Hicks will serve as Chief Executive Officer while Shigeki Tomoyama, Toyota Motor Corporation Senior Managing Officer, will be Chairman of Toyota Connected, Inc.

Toyota Connected will centralize wide range of emerging technology fields such as smart city integration, home/IoT connectivity, safety, car services and telematics.
It has begun to provide a broad range of data and computer science services at launch including support for ongoing research into artificial intelligence and robotics and the Toyota Research Institute.

Toyota Connected project is Toyota’s belief in human-centered mobility and a fundamental commitment to personal privacy. Toyota Connected will operate in full support of Federal Trade Commission’s Privacy Principles for Vehicle Technologies and Services.
