Janet Jackson is delaying her tour, and not for a bad reason. The "Unbreakable" Tour will be put on hiatus while she and her husband are planning their family. The singer, who recently was falsely reported as having cancer, was also ordered to rest.
The 49-year-old icon delayed the tour after making an announcement on her Twitter account this morning. She said that there was a "sudden change" to the second leg of her tour - which started all the way back in August.
While she didn't say that she was pregnant, she did say that she needed to rest up. While Janet is the youngest member of the Jackson family, at 50, she is still older than many first time parents.
"We're in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change," a smiling Jackson said. "I thought it was important that you be the first to know.
"My husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour. Please, if you can, try to understand that it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up; doctor's orders. But I have not forgotten about you."
Jackson and her husband, Wissam Al Mana, were married in 2012. She previously was married to James DeBarge in 1984 and Rene Elizondo Jr. in 1999.
In the clip, shown below, Jackson thanks her fans for their love, loyalty, and support. She then went on to thank her dancers, band, and crew. She also said that she couldn't wait to get back on the road again.
"Once again, thank you to all the fans for your love, your undying love; your loyalty that means so much to me," Jackson said. "You're truly appreciated. It's been a long journey and you guys have been there each and every step of the way and I really do appreciate that. Thank you so much ... I will see you soon. "
