Bentley Launches 2016 Continental GT Speed And New Black Edition
  • Bentley’s 2016 GT Speed’s Black Edition joins GT family

Bentley has introduced its new Continental GT Speed with an increase in its power and torque. The new and unique bold Black Edition is a new member of the GT family at Bentley’s Crewe factory.

Bentley launched an exclusive Black Edition of Continental GT Speed on April 4, 2016. The revised Continental GT Speed delivers a high speed of 206 mph covering 331 km per hour that makes it a more powerful, faster and luxurious model than the previous ones.

Bentley has introduced the 2016 Continental GT Speed model in a ravishing black color. The Black Edition was first launched only in Australia during the Australian GP but now it will be available worldwide.

The customers and dealers can order Bentley’s new Continental GT Speed model both in coupe and convertible body-styles. Bentley has enhanced color schemes for the international models with the gloss black finish to the exterior including lamp bezels and windows.

The Black Edition's front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser has contrast colors. And these are available in four different shades. These shades include Hallmark, Beluga, St James’ Red and a new shade, Cyber Yellow. In addition, owners can select red or black brake calipers to sit behind the five-spoke, all-black 21-inch wheels.

Engineers have assembled a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine in the Continental GT Speed 2016. With such a power engine, Bentley’s Continental has now an output of 642 PS - up from 635 PS.

In order to make boost control more efficient, the company has applied additional torque in the Continental GT Speed 2016.Bentley has added 20 Nm of extra torque in its new model, bringing its total torque to a forceful 840 Nm.

Now the maximum torque can be attained in between 2,000 rpm and 5,000 rpm. The latest Continental model will be able to cover 96 km per hour in 3.9 seconds while the previous model covers the same distance in 4.1 seconds.

Paul Jones, Product Line Director for Continental GT said, “We have developed the GT Speed Black Edition to meet demand from customers for a model in the Continental line that offers both increased sporting capabilities and instantly recognizable styling cues. The Black Edition has a subtle but purposeful look that is backed up by exceptional performance.”

According to the firm, customers can now order the new GT Speed and GT Speed Black Edition. However Bentley will start deliveries to customers this summer.
