The Huawei P9 is a normal sized phone though it was rumored to be smaller in size and has almost the same look as that of an iPhone 6s. The phone has an IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1080 pixels and a large 5.2 inches display (diagonally).
The chipset is a Kirin 955 chipset which is an even modern version of the Kirin 950 used in Huawei Mate 8. The phone is going to have a 2.5 GHz CPU and a quad-Cortex A72 cluster with 1.8 GHz for the quad- Cortex A53.
There are two variants to this phone which include one with a 3GB RAM and 32 GB storage and the other with a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is also a microSD slot to allow for extra storage.
However, it is the camera that everyone has eyes on, since it is a dual camera setup developed with the optics expertise company Leica. Hence the phone has two 12 Mega Pixels lenses one for color and the other for monochromatic versions with different grey levels.
Together they work to bring the best quality shot reducing noises and giving light optimized photos. The lens aperture is f/2.2 to be specific and has the capacity of a 27mm in terms with a 33mm lens.
The autofocus shall flash itself with the combination of laser, contrast and depth accordingly. For dark light images, a dual LED flash is also available. The biggest question lies whether the OIS is good enough to balance both the cameras equally or not, especially the grey one which is for low conditions.
The aluminum phone resembles the Huawei Nexus 6P due to the back camera strip with the finger sensor back to work again. The phone is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and can be charged via the USB Type-C connector.
The Huawei P9 Plus is a 5.5 inches diagonal display which also indicates that the Huawei Max with its 6.2 diagonal display could be real too. The resolution remains the same as that of the standard variant but the Plus has an AMOLED display.
Though it does have pressure sensitivity and a 3D touch style called Press Touch. This Press touch has already been seen in the Mate S though it did not gain much attention there. The P9 plus is only available with the 4GB/64 GB variety but the 3,400 mAh battery shall last 6 hours with just a ten minute charge.
The speakers also adjust themselves depending on the output. This would also mean that when it is in portrait mode, the bass shall be the bottom speaker and the top will be for treble, though how that qualifies for stereo is another question.
