A new analyst report says that Apple is releasing the Apple Watch 2 in summer.
The Apple Watch 2 could come earlier than expected. Most industry insiders believe that the Apple Watch 2 will be released in Fall in time for the Holiday shopping season. It is an ideal Holiday gadget gift. Some believed the new Apple Watch would be already introduced in Spring, but that did not happen. It would have annoyed all lucky consumers who got the Apple Watch for Christmas.

Now analyst Brian White from Drexel Hamilton released a research note that says the Apple Watch 2 will be released as early as June. Mr. White makes that conclusion based on meeting with suppliers in Asia.
According to MacRumors he stated: "Finally, we walked away with the sense that the Apple Watch refresh will not occur in September with the iPhone 7, but is more likely to occur within the next 2-3 months, and thus we believe an unveiling at WWDC 2016 in June makes sense. We believe Apple Watch 2 could be 20-40% thinner than the current Apple Watch."
I own an Apple Watch and the last item on my wish list for the Apple Watch 2 is a thinner housing. If Apple makes the new Apple Watch thinner and is not improving the battery life at the same time, I am going to be very disappointed. Much more important would be GPS and independence from the iPhone before making the Apple Watch thinner.
Apple needs also to improve the fitness tracking functionality to keep up with FitBit and Pulsar. FitBit recently announced that the company sold 1 million of the new FitBit Blaze fitness smartwatch. Now that the Apple Watch has got me hooked on tracking my runs, I want a better experience. The display of the fitness app is not great. I cannot see everything at a glance what I want while I run.
My Tag Heuer Monaco is not thinner than the Apple Watch and that is not a problem. Apple really needs to stop with its mad drive of making everything thinner, no matter the cost.

In regards to Mr. White's prediction, I don't buy it. I still predict the Apple Watch will be released in fall. The WWDC 2016, likely taking place June 13 to June 17 will bring new Mac hardware, but not a new Apple Watch 2.
