Netflix Prices are Increasing Next Month
  • Netflix Prices Will Be Increased From May and Users Don’t Even Know About It

Netflix which is the most famous streaming website is all set to raise its prices from May for almost 17 million users.

Netflix offers streaming in multiple qualities and multiple ways. People who have been using it since many years are about to get additional bills on Netflix. If you are an owner of the Basic account on Netflix then you will have to pay an extra amount of $2.00 each month from now onwards.

Netflix is currently charging its users on three levels. They have three kinds of accounts including: Basic for $7.99 with one screen and non HD video, Standard with two-Screen HD for $9.99 and Premium for $11.99 with four HD screens.

However these numbers are about to get changed. A new announcement made by Netflix showed that all customers are about to get Standard plans. This means that they will be charged $9.99 from the next month. This transition of rules will effect 17 million users who have the basic account.

The amazing thing about the situation is that most of the 17 million users don’t even know about this standard change of plan. A survey was carried out which showed that 80% of users were unaware of such changes, according to BI.

It is said that almost 3 to 4 percent of existing users will cancel their subscriptions when the changes will be applied. This $2 increase might not sound a lot but Netflix will get $30+ million more after implementing this rule.

This is a lot to make in such a short time. The 3 to 4 percent loss of customers will not affect Netflix a lot as they have other plans as well. They have an hourly movie and series package too. Through these a user can watch something on rates paid per hourly basis.
