Sony with its collaboration with Marvel announced the title of the new Spider Man reboot project and also let us meet the new Spider Man-Tom Holland.
Sony presented their part at the CinemaCon currently underway in L.A. where they gave the audience a look at all the upcoming movies by the studio. The audience were shown some footage from Sony projects including Ang Lee's Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk and the sci-fi love story Passengers, starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt.

Chairman of Sony Picture Entertainment's Motion Pictures Group, Tom Rothman initiated the presentation talking about the studio bringing the balance between familiarity and freshness.
According to them the Ang Lee project and his style have always made for iconic cinema. He praised the cast of Passengers as well as both Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence were in attendance and talked about the movie as well.
The big reveal was however the Sony collaboration with Marvel for the new Spider Man installment. After the last Spider Man movie starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, we thought that the Spidey was done for a while but Marvel put a new twist on the story when they introduced Spider Man in the trailer for Captain America Civil War. Sony then took the lead and collaborated with Marvel to start a new Spider Man project.
Tom Rothman used his time on the podium to announce the official title of the movie as Spider Man Homecoming. He then brought out the star of the movie Tom Holland who will be playing a younger, high school version of Spider Man.
Although Tobey Maguire movie was also set in the high school time but Rothman said that this time around it would be more focused on the teenage side of the action hero.
The movie footage shown at the CinemaCon showed the young Peter Parker returning home to find Tony Stark talking to his Aunt May played by Marissa Tomei.
There is an indication that the story for the movie is directly inspired by a comic in the Spider Man series and both Iron Man and Captain America appear in that comic so we will have to see whether the Avengers do show up for a longer time.
Spider-Man: Homecoming movie is set to release on July 7, 2017.
