Squarespace Domains Takes on GoDaddy

Website platform Squarespace offers now domain names.

Squarespace launched today Squarespace Domains. Now Squarespace customers can get everything they need for a website from the company. This allows Squarespace to compete directly with companies like GoDaddy.

Squarespace offers over 200 top-level domains starting at $20/year. Squarespace Domains includes WHOIS Privacy at no extra charge, an ad-free parking page, a same-rate guarantee for renewals, and no hidden fees. Squarespace will soon also offering SSL certificates and domain transfers at no additional cost.

Squarespace Domains offering is a natural extension. It is surprising that the company did not offer this earlier. Squarespace competitor Wix.com has offered already domains. Squarespace Domains is available here.

Squarespace is headquartered in Soho, New York with offices in Dublin and Portland and employees over 500 people. SquareSpace raised nation-wide attention with their Super Bowl commercials. The Squarespace Super Bowl 50 ad starred comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.
