Variety resources have revealed that Sony is in talks with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart for this new adaptation of the adventure movie. Jumanji which originally starred Robin Williams was loved by both children and adults due to its adventurous storyline.
Johnson and Hart have a hectic production and work schedule ahead of them. This is the reason that they are taking time to finalize shooting for Jumanji. Johnson was supposed to work on his new project “Rampage” this fall.
However the project has been shifted to the spring of 2017. This means that Dwayne might have an empty slot open in the fall of this year which can go perfectly with the filming of Jumanji. He will also be working in “Fast 8” this year in late summer starring as Agent Hobbs.
Hart is all set to shoot “The Intouchables” which is another remake. It can be difficult for him to find time to work in Jumanji due to other projects.
Sony decided to include both of them in Jumanji after seeing their great chemistry in the MTV Movie Awards. They both showed great skills while co-hosting the ceremony. They will be seen together in their upcoming comedy “Central Intelligence” which made them a great choice for Sony.
The script of this movie is written by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinker. The original writers were Chris McKenna and Eric Sommers.
