“The People v O.J Simpson” star Courtney B. Vance is all set to star in the reboot of “The Mummy”.

American Crime Story: The People v O.J Simpson starred B. Vance as defence attorney Johnnie Cochran. His role was a significant part of the series and was highly acclaimed by critics. It looks like his great work has landed him a role along with Tom Cruise in “The Mummy” made by Alex Kurtzman.

Tom Cruise will be playing the lead role in this movie. He will be accompanied by Annabelle Wallis (Annabelle) and Jake Johnson (New Girl). Sofia Boutella from “Kingsman: The Secret Service” will play a villainous role.

The description of Sofia’s role has not been shared yet by the film makers. Courtney B. Vance will play a Colonel in the movie but the details of his role are not available yet.

Its screenplay is set by Jon Spaihts who also worked for Prometheus. It is reported that the story line of this movie is set in the present time and is also rumored to follow the life of a Navy SEAL.

It is said that the SEAL and his team will relocate to a desert in search of a suspected terrorist where they will find a few robbers who died of an unknown and mysterious cause. This mysterious cause might be linked to the monstrous mummy of the movie.

According to Variety, the studio asked Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan to create a monster universe for the reboot of this movie. Kurtzman is also set to direct the movie which will be produced by Morgan along with Daniel.

The previous three installments of this movie had Brandon Fraser in the lead role but Tom Cruise is taking his place in this new installment. The Mummy is all set for a release on June 9, 2017.
