People have been adopting smartphones much quicker than before which has given rise to a smart phone saturated market. According to TrendForce this year’s quarters reveal the same as only 292 million units were sold, bringing down the numbers by 18.6 pc.

On the contrary, Samsung has positioned itself as the leader of the market by selling 81 million units as it goes up by 5.7 pc compared to the previous year’s quarterly earnings. The earnings are increasing quarter by quarter as the fourth quarter emerged as the strongest one.
There is no doubt that sales have gotten a tremendous boost after the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge series launch. TrendForce experts also say that it is also the successful J-series in China that has further added to the ever growing sales for the company.
Apple on the other hand has experienced quite tougher times as it went down by 6.5 pc in comparison to its last year’s sales. However this could also be because the iPhone SE was launched after this quarter.
While the new iPhone SE is expected to bring up the sales for the second quarter until the iPhone 7 spreads its magic but this quarter’s sales clearly show that Samsung has sold double the amount that Apple has.
LG has shipped a better amount than last year but still declined reaching the 6th global number. After all LG’s new innovative variant didn’t seem to reach expectations.
Moreover, Chinese companies came out quite well as they moved up independent of the overall saturation decline. They were shipped more locally than Samsung and Apple both for the very first time.
This was seen as a result of 4G technology in China and smart phone sales increase in India however, the sales dropped by 20 pc i.e. 27 million units in comparison to the previous year’s 4th quarter.
Huwaei reached the third place in the international arena while TrendForce speculates it has the potential to overtake Apple soon.
Last year Xiaomi and Lenovo were on the same page however Lenovo seems to have taken the game this year with 17 million as Xiaomi lack a million less this year. Lenovo is also puuting up about 80 pc as exports.

Alcatel or TCL is the fourth on the list as Oppo and Vivo together account for 20 pc of the Chinese smart phones sold this year. It is a competition for Lenovo though only 10 pc of Oppo is given out as exports.
