The British Astronaut, Tim Peake broke the world record for a space marathon while aboard the ISS.

He hails from the Land of the Brits. Tim Peake is in peak condition as far as his fitness levels are concerned. So much so that he completed a space marathon aboard the ISS and had his name was added to the Guiness Book of World Records.

He happens to be the second individual who covered the 26.2 mile distance while on board the ISS. His time was quicker than the previous person who had completed the space marathon.

Whereas Sunita Williams finished the distance in four hours, 23 minutes and ten seconds, Tim completed the lengthy distance in three hours, 35 minutes and 21 seconds. Before starting his marathon session, Peake added a tweet on Twitter saying “Hello London, fancy a run!”…

He also attached a pic of London from so far above in the stratosphere. Tim completed his record on a treadmill. In order to fight the force of gravity, Tim was weighed down by straps onto the treadmill.

The fact that Tim covered 26.2 miles whereas the ISS covered 60,000 miles speaks volumes about the augmenting power of science and technology.

After he finished the marathon, Tim tweeted that he would have a very deep and restful sleep thanks to the strenuous exercise session. The record set by Tim Peake has earned him accolades from all around the world.

He prepared for the marathon by undergoing rigorous training and mental toughening sessions while aboard the ISS. Tim is the first British national to come aboard the ISS.

Meanwhile, in the UK, over 39,000 people competed in the London Marathon. Back on earth, many of the runners in the London Marathon broke into tears of anguish and relief when they completed the distance. Some of them were in pain while others were very joyous. The tears were probably due to eustress instead of distress.

There was a man in a dinosaur costume who participated in the London Marathon. One person who was a star appeared all covered in tattoo paint. There was a fellow with a tumble dryer strapped to his back for charity purposes.

A Star Wars stormtrooper was present as well. One of the participants had a gorilla costume on his back side too. There were some who fell after colliding with others who were participating in the London Marathon. All in all, it was a fun-filled event that tested the limits. It will be remembered for a long time in the collective memory.
