The first smartphone from Chinese smartphone startup Vernee is has been pre-ordered over 21,700 times.

Chinese smartphone startup is going to ship its first smartphone by the end of April. The Vernee Thor is the cheapest 8-core 3GB RAM Android smartphone on the market. The price is as low as $99.99 if you can score a $20 discount code. The regular price is $119.99.

Today Vernee announced that the company received 21,796 pre-orders for the Vernee Thor smartphone. This is a solid number for a first product.

The Vernee Thor runs on a 8-core MediaTek MT6753 1.3GHz CPU, 3GB RAM and 16GB storage. Other features of the 7/9mm thin Thor include 5.0 inch FHD arc display, 13.0MP camera, 5MP front camera, fingerprint sensor, dual-SIM, 5V 2A quick charge and 2800mAh battery. The Vernee Thor comes pre-installed with Android 6.0.

In the coming months, Vernee will release the Vernee Apollo and the Vernee Apollo Lite. The Vernee Apollo is the most interesting smartphone from Vernee. The $399.99 Vernee Apollo runs on MediaTek's newest high-end Helio X20 10-core CPU and comes with over the top configuration including 6GB RAM, 128GB storage and 21.0MP Sony IMX230 rear camera. The screen-size is 5.5-inch.
