British astronaut Tim Peake has just captured the most breathtaking and captivating photo of a thunderstorm from aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Tim Peake is a Facebook and Twitter freak who loves to engage in some social online media hype. Recently he was up to his games of spreading the word and the image from on board the ISS.

Being the first Brit in space, he has really lent the terms “clipped cockney accent” and “polished English manners” a whole new meaning. He caught a pic from a bird’s eye view of a thunderstorm on his camera from way up their in space. 

Tim posted the photograph on Twitter. It has attracted 4,582 likes and some 1,744 retweets. The thunderstorm looked like an anvil with acute sides, slender ends and a flat head.

It looked to be like a very furious storm that never seemed to abate. Besides the twitter pic of the thunderstorm, Peake also posted other photos on his Flickr account.

While Peake did show the world a beautiful natural phenomenon in the form of the pic, he never explained where on earth the thunderstorm was taking place. This only increased the curiosity of his fans and other space experts.  

Some have said that the thunderstorm was over Nepal. Tim also participated in the London Marathon although it was a vicarious experience. He engaged in the running from on board the ISS.

Peake wished the Queen of England a very happy birthday. He posted a birthday card on Twitter for her majesty’s perusal. Tim Peake was dressed for success.

He donned a black shirt with the words “Science is Great Britain” emblazoned in front of it. He also posted pics of Edinburgh and Dubai from the vantage point of outer space. 

Via social media, many astronauts may share parts of their experiences in space with earthlings. Peake has also shared a pic of a bold lightning bolt striking the earth in his repertoire of posts.

Tim’s selfie also raised the interest-o-meter among the planet’s inhabitants recently. The photos Peake seems to take are pretty incredible. They show all sorts of things from the angle of the ISS.

Some of the pics he has taken of volcanoes and other natural objects of interest from up above strike one as evidence of the curiosity drive in mankind. He is full of passion and zest for life as is clear from the social activities he participates in.
