Minecraft Released for Gear VR

The Minecraft game can now be played in virtual reality on mobile phone with the Samsung Gear VR.

You can now play Minecraft on the Gear VR with the Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, Note5, S6 and S6 edge.

The virtual reality edition of Minecraft for the Oculus Rift is still on its way, but to make things simple, we’ve released a separate version on the Oculus Store just for use with the Gear VR says Mojang's Marsh Davies.

The Minecraft Gear VR version has all the features of Pocket Edition, costs the same ($6.99) and has cross-platform play with regular Pocket and Windows 10 editions. You’ll need a compatible Bluetooth controller.

Mojang recommends that you should always take regular breaks, as longer sessions can make some players feel a bit icky or strain tired eyes.

The Minecraft app for Gear VR is available in the Oculus store here.
