Fox and Ubisoft then took on the project to make a feature film based on the premise of the game’s story and they have been working for two years now to make that project successful. Both the studios along with Regency Pictures decided to finally drop the trailer for the movie for the audience.
The trailer features Michael Fassbender as the main character Desmond Miles who wakes up in a slightly panicked state in what appears to be a hospital bed.
On his bedside is one of the Abstergo official played by Marion Cotillard to whom he asks where he is. She tells him that he was executed the previous day at 6 p.m. and we see him lying on a bed while his IV lead is injected with something that supposedly made him die and he was pronounced dead.
He no longer exists for the world but apparently he is still alive. We see Desmond walking around in an indoor garden in awe and shock and he asks what kind of a prison it is.
We then see the Abstergo logo and understand as Marion’s character tells him that it is not a prison. She informs him that he is about to enter the Animus and what he is about to see, hear and feel are going to be his ancestors’ memories who have been dead for five hundred years.
He is fitted with blades and he asks what they want from him to which he simply answers, his past. We then see an older city as his pupils dilate and we are introduced to the Spanish Inquisition.
We then see Desmond experiencing the past as a participant and the gamers know what it is all about but for the movie audience, it is truly fascinating to see the characters in the past waging war and fighting off the opposing sides in some spectacular fighting sequences, some really awesome building jumping scenes peppered with a few glimpses of the future in which Desmond currently is when he finally jumps back to the ground in from his suspended position and declares that. “We work in the Dark, to serve the Light.
We are Assassins.” The screen then shows the symbol of the Assassins’ Creed and the title and then we see his ancient character standing at a high tower looking over the city before jumping off. The trailer features I am a God by Kanye West and while many fans have protested that the trailer should have featured the music in the game, it gives the trailer an edge.
