If you work out even a few hours per week, you may slash your chances of contracting breast, colon and lung cancer, according to a new study published online by JAMA Internal Medicine. The study involved 1.4 million adults.

The cancers listed above are three of the most common cancers that harm Americans each year. As for fitness freaks, they ought to remember that they decrease the chances of contracting cancer the more they exercise.

The contemporary guidelines for exercise are 150 minutes of moderate activity per week or 75 minutes of vigorous activity on a weekly basis. While this is very good for the health of your ticker, it is also useful in cancer prevention.

While moderate exercise involves such activities as brisk walking in a park or tennis on the court, vigorous activities include jogging on the tracks or swimming laps in a pool.

At least 50% of Americans do not get enough exercise. Physical activity also reduced rates of diabetes and obesity or “diabesity” as it is currently called.

Also people who work out tend to have less inflammation in their bodies. Cancer is a scourge that modern times with their high levels of carcinogens tend to create in the biology of human beings. Exercise goes a long way in protecting from many types of this “death sentence” of a disease.
